I do wish Game Freak continued with the trend of making the Team groups an actual threat with a purpose and motive, which helped make the lore far more interesting, but they have ever since been reduced to some harmless little club consisting of some angsty adults with barely any impact on the plot.

Yeah! They were integral to the story too, showing that there was a greater evil using them as a front, which really spiced things up in terms of lore, but they’ve been resorting to the same trope about some adult delinquents, which unlike Sun and Moon, has no bearing on the plot, and I can’t help but feel that the writing is getting sloppier for every generation. Black and White had one of the best writings in the whole franchise owing to its darker, mature theme, colorful cadt of characters and offering far more nuance than the previous games. Heck, the writing was so good, they made a sequel for it, which continued the story from the last game.
